Harrison F. Crockett Jr.

Portland- Harrison F. Crockett Jr, 72, of Baxter Blvd passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Maine Medical Center. Harrison was born in Portland, Maine the son of the late Harrison F. Sr. and Josephine M. Quinn Crockett. He attended local schools. He enlisted and served in the United States Army. Harrison worked for Seltzer Rydholm for ten years and then for Kippy Floor Cleaning Service for more than twenty years retiring in 2003. In his spare time he loved tinkering on cars. He was an artist that enjoyed painting with watercolors, drawing, arts and crafts and created beautiful churches out of popsicle sticks with details of stained glass windows and miniature stairs. He loved dancing and was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his son James Crockett; longtime companion Jean Graffam; sister Mary Coffill; two brothers William E. and John H. Crockett. He is survived by two daughters Diane and Shirley Swallow; a sister Nancy Stults of Portland; several grandchildren; two Aunts Annie Stowell of Yarmouth and Theresa Clements of Westbrook; several cousins and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the funeral home at 11:00am with the Rev Harold Moreshead officiating. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland.
