Falmouth - Hardi Liauw, of Falmouth, Maine, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, April 6, 2015 at 8:30am. He was born in Bogor, Indonesia on October 18, 1947 to Agnes and Tjeng Ho Liauw. He was a veterinarian in Indonesia before moving to the United States in 1975. He completed his PhD in microbiology at Texas AM University where he also met his wife, Indriani. He and Indriani married in 1980, and eventually moved from Texas to Nebraska before finally settling in Falmouth, Maine for the last 25 years. He retired in 2012, and was able to focus more on things that interested him, namely, charities, religion, and finance. In his leisure time, Hardi enjoyed reading, watching movies, trying new food, traveling, but he most enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids, either at home or going on many family trips. Hardi is survived by his wife of 34 years, Indriani (Gumulja) Liauw of Falmouth, ME; his sons Justin Liauw of Providence, RI and Jonathan Liauw of Orlando, FL; his brother, Robert Liauw of Wilmington, DE. The family would like to thank the staff of Gibson at Maine Medical Center and Southern Maine Hospice Care for their wonderful care, as well as family members and many friends that have provided great support. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 10:00am to 12:00 at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, ME . A service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00noon. Burial will be private. Those who wish may share a special condolence by going to www.ctcrawford.com
