Gracy Abraham
Gracy Abraham was the daughter of Elampilackil Philip and Annamma Philip. She was born on April 27, 1935 in Arattupuzha, Kerala, India and raised with her five sisters and two brothers in Punalur, Kerala where she was born-again, baptized and in fellowship with the local Assembly. She earned a BSc degree from Trivandrum, Kerala and went on to become a Senior Laboratory Technician in Kuwait where she met and married Panikammattu John Abraham, from Tiruvalla, Kerala. She was intelligent and energetic, devoting herself to her family, profession, faith and church. Her ready smile and quick wit put people at ease. After spending nearly forty years in Kuwait, John and Gracy retired back to India where John passed away suddenly in September of 2008. Her strength, fortitude, determination and resilience led her successfully through many challenges as a widow living alone in India. In 2015, she moved to the United States to be with her children. She passed away on March 09, 2017 following a lengthy and severely debilitating illness. She will be missed dearly by her children Abraham John, Annie Jiju Thomas, and Philip Abraham, their spouses Liz, Jiju, and Jill, respectively, her grandchildren Jonah, Benjamin, Hannah, Sarah, Sunaina, her grand-son-in-law John, her great-grandchild, Zoe and by her surviving siblings, nephews and nieces. She is an inspiration to her children and grandchildren and has left a legacy that continues to inspire. They will find comfort in the fact that she is now where she has wanted to be for several years-with her loving husband in the presence of God.Services were held on March 11 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Sanford.
