Glenys Pelletier
Glenys Muriel (Weaver) Pelletier, 87, of Sanford died peacefully with her family at her side at her home on Saturday, October 18, 2014.Glenys was born in LLandilo,Wales, United Kingdom on October 17, 1927 the daughter of Mary Jane (Cattle) and Frank Weaver, the youngest in a family of eleven brothers and sisters. She grew up in Taunton,England attended local schools, graduating from St. Andrew's. She met her beloved soul mate Paul who was stationed in Bishop's Lydeard, England as a member of the Medical Corps during the WW II European campaign. Leaving behind her loving family she sailed to the states in 1946 to rendezvous with Paul and soon married in January, 1947.Settling in Sanford, Maine they raised four wonderful children and shared a loving life over their 65 years together. During that time she worked in the textile industry starting with the Sanford Goodall Mills in 1947 and ending with Brooks Textile in 1981. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, sewing, cooking, swimming, was an avid reader and enjoyed summer afternoons at the beach.Glenys is predeceased by her loving husband Paul, her son Paul Joseph and her granddaughter Breanna Gauvreau. She is survived by her son Michael and wife Wendy of Amelia Island, FL, daughter Denise Gallant and husband Donald of Lebanon, ME, daughter Kathleen Gauvreau and husband Patrick of Shapleigh, ME, daughter-in-law Patricia Pelletier of Springvale, ME, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 21 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.
