He was an avid reader and whittler, a skill that he picked up when he got a pocketknife for Christmas at the age of 12. Something Glen always wanted to do was to go skydiving, which he finally did to celebrate his 70th birthday. He was a longtime diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. Glendon was predeceased by his wife Donna Winton and her daughter Joyce. He is survived by a sister, Gloria and her husband Quentin Hall of Auburn; nieces, Karen Shaw and Sharon Labonte; Donna's sons Ross Furman, Bruce Furman and Dean Furman and numerous other members of both families. Guestbook

  1. I want to express my sympathy to Quint and Gloria and to the wonderful nieces and nephews Grumpah loved so much. I was not in Maine last weekend, so I was unable to attend the graveside service for Grumpah! He meant a lot to me, and to my family over the years. There are many great memories that he was a part of. Even though we didn’t see each other often over the last 5-10 years, I visited whenever I was able, and kept in touch with notes and phone calls, as did his Morgan. He loved to hear about what everyone was doing, and he was always so proud of his “girls”. We could always count on his happy tears at the end of every visit or call. We love you Grumpah, xoxo Your Jenn and Morgan
