Gertrude Tumblin

Gertrude Tumblin, 92, a lifelong resident of Sanford, passed away on Sunday July 24, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born in Sanford on May 7, 1924 a daughter of the late Michael and Mathilda (Tanguay) Gorman. A lifelong communicant of Holy Family. She was also a life member of the D.A.V and VFW Auxillary. She had been employed for 25 years by Eastern Plastics.She is predeceased by her husband, Arnold C. Tumblin, one granddaughter, Vicki Royal, one sister, Gladys Touchette, two brothers, James Gorman and Albert Gorman.She is survived by her daughters, Rose Royal of Springvale, Rosalyn Bernier and her husband Jim Leavitt of Alfred, Allison Gilley of Sanford., grandchildren, Jeffrey Royal of Rochester, Jennifer Royal of Sanford, Jessica Peart of Springvale, Shannon Gilley of Georgia and Lindsey Gilley of Biddeford and 14 great grandchildren, sister in law, Sandra Merrill of MA, sister in law, Dorothy Tumblin of Florida.Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
