Gertrude Couture

Gertrude R. Couture, 97, of Lyman died on September 29, 2016, at Greenwood Center in Sanford.She was born on May 25, 1919 in Dorchester, MA and was adopted by John and Elizabeth (Johnson) Roussin.Gertrude moved to Sanford and attended Holy Family School in Sanford. She married Gerald L. Couture in 1938. She was a communicant of St. Phillip Church in Lyman. Survivors include a son, Paul Couture and his wife Gloria Jean, of Danbury, CT, a daughter, Gloria Chouniard of Lyman, a daughter Gail Fleischmann and husband Carl of Silverdale, WA, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at 11:00 A.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Springvale. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
