Germaine L. Normand

Germaine L. Normand, 96, of Sanford, died on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Mountain View Residential Care Facility in Springvale.Germaine was born in Biddeford on January 16, 1913 to Joseph an Olivine (Hebert) Gagne and attended St. Joseph School. In 1939 Germaine married Louis P. Normand and moved to Sanford where the couple raised five children. She was employed at Sprague Electric for over 15 years. She was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Germaine enjoyed flower gardening and doing crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Germaine was predeceased by her husband, Louis and a son, Clement R. Normand.Surviving are two sons, Donald M. Normand and Paul R. Normand both of Sanford; two daughters, Jacqueline Vallee and her husband Raymond of Springvale and Celeste Mountford of Langdon, NH; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Gertrude Boutet and Pauline Boutet, both of Biddeford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 14th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Interment will be held at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Mountain View Residential Care Facility and Beacon Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Germaine during her illness.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Mountain View Residential Care Facility Activity Fund, 164 Hanson Ridge Road, Springvale, ME 04083 or the charity of one's choice.Arrangements are through Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home in Sanford.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
