Germaine B. (Caron) Chevalier 82 passed away peacefully at the Pavilion Residential Care Facility in Sanford on Sunday, March 12, 2017.Germaine was born on April 18, 1934 in Sanford, daughter of Eugene and Laura (Dery) Caron. She was one of thirteen children. She attended Sanford schools, worked at the Sanford Mills and retired in 1993 from Sprague Electric after 28+ years of service. Germaine married her husband Paul on September 2, 1957. They raised their two sons Norman and Thomas in Sanford and resided there for her entire life.In her younger years Germaine and Paul went dancing or played cards most every Saturday night with family and friends. As years progressed the group transitioned to extended stays in the White Mountains at the Beacon and Indian Head Resorts for buffets, dancing, fun and games. She shared many stories of their endeavors. Nearly on a weekly basis she and Paul went out with her sister Jeanne and brother-in-law Henry. The girls shopped and the boys went golfing. A perfect compromise! Germaine also enjoyed making Sunday dinners and hosting the holidays to gather her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone.Germaine is predeceased by her husband Paul of 58 years; her sisters Jeanne, Yvette, Theresa, Rita and Gertrude; her brothers Fern, Guy, Gerard, Dennis and Raymond.Germaine is survived by her sons Norman of Sanford and Thomas and daughter-in-law Debra of Waterboro; four grandchildren Aleisha, Kerianne, Ashley and Seth; two great-grandchildren, Derik and Emily her sister Doris, her brother Henry and sister-in-law Paula, all of Sanford and many nieces and nephews.The family wishes to express their thanks to Pavilion Residential Care and Compassus Hospice for the exceptional care they gave Germaine.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM At St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.
