Gerard M. LeBrun, 79, died March 6 at the Newton Center in Sanford after a long illness.He was born in Sanford on May 11, 1927, a son of Arthur and Lucina (Desharnais) LeBrun, attended the former Holy Family School and was a graduate of the former St. Ignatius High School.He was a US Army veteran of World War II.Mr. LeBrun was employed before and after his military service with the former Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills. He then went to work at The Boston Store and purchased the shop from Mr. Cole, renaming the store LeBrun's Men's Wear in the 1970's. He sold the store to his son Brian and retired in 1986.He had served on the board for the former Sanford Savings and Loan.He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the League of the Sacred Heart.Jerry's first love was his family, especially his grandchildren. He took tremendous pride in his home and building his business. He was well known in the community for his kindness and generosity.He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sr. Marguerite LeBrun of the Ursuline order.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marcelle (Frechette) LeBrun of Sanford, his children Rachel Sanchez, her husband Luis and their children Eliza, Luke and Eric of Danville, NH, Brian LeBrun, his wife Pamela and their children Peter, Matthew and Hillary of Springvale, Keith LeBrun and his children Zachary and Elise of Lake Elsinore, CA, Gary LeBrun and his partner Del Wilson of Portland, and Sharon Gullage and her husband John of Rochester, NH, his siblings Lucille Edwards of Nashville, TN, Roland LeBrun and his wife Jeannine of Sanford, Gertrude Carignan and her husband Raymond of Dover, NH, Conrad LeBrun and his wife Gloria of Somersworth, NH, Richard LeBrun and his companion Joanne Masure of Springvale, Michael LeBrun and his wife Janet of Sanford, and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 12 from 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 13 at 1:00 PM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, Sanford.
