Georgia Lee Bears

Georgia L. Bears, Georgia L. Bears, 54, of Limerick, died at her residence on March 19, 2007.Georgia was born in Woburn, MA on January 20, 1953 to the late George and Elsie Thompson Bears, Sr. and attended local schools. She was an active member of the Metis of Maine. She liked reading, making crafts, doing Indian beadwork and attending Indian pow wows. She was a very spiritual person and had deep faith in Native American religious beliefs. Mrs. Bears was a fun loving and lived her life to the fullest. She was a very outgoing and people oriented person. Wherever she went, she was always making new friends. She was a very generous person, always giving whatever she could to people in need. Georgia was a kind and loving mother and grandmother and got a lot of joy spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warm and friendly demeanor and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.Georgia was predeceased by a son, Michael Ruby and 4 siblings, Karen, Sharon, Harry and Carol.Surviving are a son, Robert Ruby of Kennebunk; a daughter, April Ruby of Winchendon, MA; 5 grandchildren, Ashton, Cameron, Alyssa, Deven and Michaela and two sisters, Dianne of New Hampshire and Kathleen of MA.A period of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2007 with a memorial service following at 7:00 PM at the Carll Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Metis of Maine, 13 Lombard Hill Road, Limerick, ME 04048.
