South Portland - Georgette D. (Plouffe) Jacobsen A loving, wonderful heart beats no longer. Georgette D. Jacobsen, 90, died Friday, July 20, 2018, after a long illness to join her French Canadian and American ancestors in loving eternity. Georgette was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on October 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Adrian and Germaine (Cyrenne) Plouffe. She fulfilled her dreams in life, traveling to Egypt and France. She was an avid reader of all subjects, especially Egyptology and biographies of historical figures. She loved a good story and enjoyed a practical joke. A more caring soul will be hard to find. Everyone who knew her loved her for her kind and generous heart. She was not only a loving mother, but a best friend to her children. Georgette, a devoted wife, was predeceased by her husband, Robert T. Jacobsen; two brothers, Louis "George" Plouffe and Marcel Plouffe; and sister in law, Gerry Plouffe. Georgette is survived by her five sons, Michael Jacobsen and wife Dianne of Denver, CO, Robert Jacobsen and wife Judy of Edgewood, KY, Charles Jacobsen of South Portland, Thomas Jacobsen and wife Heidi of Livermore, James Jacobsen of Durham; two daughters, Pamela Russo and husband Michael of Scarborough, Patricia Kaczmarek and spouse Ronald of Gorham; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two sister in laws, Louise Plouffe, Velma Plouffe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her final days were spent at the South Portland Nursing Home, cared for by the most loving staff who knew her as "Georgie." Our lives have been enriched by her presence. She will be dearly missed. Services and burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland.
