POLAND, MAINE - George Michael Lindsey, 68, of Poland, ME died December 18, 2011 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was born March 1, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, a son of James Edwin and Mary E. (McCarty) Lindsey. George was a 1961 graduate of Framingham High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. George worked in the transportation field as a sales broker for the past 30 years. George was a member of the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club and was an amateur gunsmith. He liked to travel and particularly enjoyed the southwest. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed skiing and fishing as a young person. He was predeceased by his father. Surviving are his mother, Mary E. Lindsey of Hopkinton, MA, also formerly from Fayville, MA; two sons, David Lindsey and his wife Kristina of Cumberland, Michael Lindsey of South FL; two sisters, Jennifer R. Roberts of Hopkinton, MA, Mary E. Snow of Pasadena, CA; two brothers, James E. Lindsey and his wife Saralyn of Mystic, CT, William D. Lindsey and his wife Maureen of Medway, MA and four grandchildren, Nicole, Daniel, Michaela, and Emma.
