George Buddy Abbott
George C. "Buddy" Abbott Jr., 47, of Waterboro, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 2, 2017. He was born in Porland to George Sr. and Sharon Wight Abbott on July 20, 1969. He graduated from Massabesic High School in 1987. He married Lori Ann Bond in North Waterboro on July22, 1995.Buddy started working at the York County Sheriff's Office in 1988. For the several years, heheld the position of Training Director with the rank of Lieutenant. He was highly regarded in theDepartment and was a mentor to countless officers throughout the years.Buddy was an avid New England Patriots and Red Sox Fan. He was always so proud to watchand support his children participate in football, cheerleading, baseball, and the SpecialOlympics.Bud will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, and telling you just what was on hismind, even when it wasn't appropriate or if you didn't want to hear it.He was predeceased by his daughter, Amanda Lynn, in 1992 and his father, George.Survivors are his children Alexis, Taylor, Tyler, and Nathan. His mother Sharon Abbott ofWaterboro, brother Jeffrey of Waterboro, sister Lori Place and her husband William ofWaterboro, sister Debra Taylor and her husband Travis of Gorham, NH., and several nieces andnephews.Friends and relatives are invited to a time of visitation on Friday, June 9, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, at 10:00 A.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale.
