Geneva W. Gregoire

Geneva W. Gregoire, 85, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Waterboro on April 19, 1933 a daughter of the late Norris E. and Leona M. (Sanborn) Woodsome. In her early years Geneva worked as a cook. She was a fabulous cook and loved to bake, especially around the holidays when she made her famous Christmas fudge. She also worked at the W.T. Grant Company for 11 years and in 1990 retired from Sprague Electric. After retirement Geneva cared for her ailing mother and was very active and involved with the family owned cleaning business. She loved to travel and go on outings with her family.She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sanford. She is predeceased by her husband, Ernest Gregoire as well as her parents, Norris and Leona Woodsome.She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Johnson and her husband, Robert of Sanford, her brother with who she lived with, Corliss Woodsome of Sanford, and her two beloved cats, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10th at 2PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Visiting hours will begin at 12noon until the time of the service.
