Frank Forrest Laskey, 82 years old, of Waterboro, ME, died Sunday evening, April 29, 2007 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.Frank was born on January 16, 1925 in Waterboro. He was the son of the late Forrest and Grace Nason Laskey.Frank attended local schools, and left high school early to enlist in the Navy during WWII. After proudly serving his country Frank returned to Waterboro and worked for Jones' Garage of Sanford. After a short time there, Frank decided to venture out on his own, so he built Laskey's Garage in Waterboro from the ground up, from where he serviced the community as a mechanic, auto and Case Tractor dealer and repairman, and filling station attendant. A service that he enjoyed doing for over 33 years until he retired in 1996.If Frank wasn't hard at work, he was hard at play. He loved the outdoors. You could often find Frank out hunting, fishing, snowmobiling or riding his A.T.V.Frank was also past chief and a lifetime member of the Waterboro Fire Department, a 50 year member of the Alfred Masonic Fraternal Lodge AF&AM, and the Brown Emmons Post of the American Legion in Alfred.Surviving is his wife of 60 years Helen Hanscom Laskey of Waterboro: two sons, Danny and Kathryn Laskey of Waterboro, and Larry Laskey and Ethel Adams of Waterboro; four grandchildren, Eric, Chad, and Logan Laskey, and Lacey Savary, and a great granddaughter Hannah Cram. Also surviving are two sisters, Mildred Hooper of Shapleigh, and Doris Daney of Waterboro.An 11:00 AM graveside service for Frank will be held this Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Pine Grove Cemetery in South Waterboro. In lieu of flowers the Laskey family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Lancaster St. Suite B, Portland, ME 04101.Funeral services for the Laskey family have been arranged through the Carll-Heald & Black funeral Home of Springvale, ME.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
