Venice, FL - Frank Cavallaro, 85, died on Thursday, June 21, 2018, surrounded by his family at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, FL.
Frank was born on December 10, 1932, in Portland, ME, the son of the late Samuel and Josephine (Fasulo) Cavallaro. He grew up in Portland, attended local schools, and graduated from Portland High School, Class of 1951. After honorably serving in the United States Navy, Frank attended the University of Bridgeport to receive his Bachelor's degree in accounting. Throughout his professional life, Frank worked as an accountant for multiple firms in the Portland area, but his true passion was building houses and completing home improvement projects for family members.
Frank was predeceased by five sisters; Annie Cavallaro, Antoinette DiPaolo, Camilla Jensen, Julia Rys and Lucy Fournier. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Donna Cavallaro of FL; a son, Steve Cavallaro and his wife Judy of FL, three daughters, Julie Cavallaro of MA, Dina Hebert of FL, and Jeanne Zelensky and her husband John of NH; three step daughters, Deanna Donnelly and her husband Patrick of NJ, Debra Burns and her husband Dennis of NJ, Michelle Daniels and her husband Bob of Standish; a sister, Mary Lou Guerra and her husband Ralph of NH; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In celebration of Frank's life, prayers will be recited at 9:15AM on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, followed by a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal Street, Portland. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
