Frances Marie Thomas

Presque Isle and Portland - Frances M. Thomas, 94, died on April 7, 2022. She was born on Feb. 16, 1928, in Fort Kent, the daughter of the late Frederick and Maude (Soucier) Paradis. She was one of 12 children, moving to Presque Isle at the age of two. She grew up in Presque Isle and attended local schools. She met the love of her life, Winston Thomas, at a dance. They married in 1947 and had three children spending 53 years of marriage together. She enjoyed spending summers at St. Froid Lake with family and friends. Most importantly she enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Presque Isle and continued to attend daily Mass when she moved to Portland. She was predeceased by her husband Winston in 2000; her daughters, Colleen Thibeault, Susan Carter and her 11 siblings. She is survived by her son, David Thomas and his wife Sandra of Hudson FL, 2 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was so proud that he had her bright blue eyes. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Josephs Rehabilitation and Residence of Portland for the loving care and support. She loved her family at St. Joe's. A private graveside service will be held this summer in Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland.
