Florence Valliere
Florence R. Valliere, 97, of Sanford, died on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Florence was born in Danville, Quebec on June 9, 1916 to Hilaire and Marie (Laurendeau) Lafrance, one of 14 children. Her family moved to Sanford when she was a young child where she grew up and attended Holy Family School. She was employed for 25 years at the Jagger Mills in Sanford.Florence was a devout Catholic and had been a communicant of St. Ignatius Church. She had also been a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and enjoyed making crafts. Florence was a natural care giver, helping to care for her mother and many of her siblings as they advanced in years. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who devoted her life to caring for her family.Florence was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Valliere.Surviving are three children, Richard Valliere of Springvale, Roger Valliere and his wife Lois of Conway, New Hampshire and Connie Perron and her husband Paul of Waterboro; two grandchildren, Sean Perron and his wife Marie of Shapleigh and Lisa Perron of Sanford; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Perron and Ashlynn McGinn and many nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 2nd at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Newton Center Activities Fund, 35 June Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
