Fernande Babineau

Fernande St. Amand-Babineau, 94, of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Watton, P.Q., Canada, one of 16 children on May 18, 1915, a daughter of the late George and Adelaide (Dorval) Thibeault. When she was four years old the family moved to Sanford.Mrs. Babineau was a lifelong communicant of St. Ignatius parish and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She retired from Universal Shoe with 40 years of service with the company.She is predeceased by her first husband, Laurent St. Amand who passed away in 1970, her second husband, Arcille Babineau who passed away in 2008.She is survived by one son, Normand G. St. Amand and his wife, Paula of Bedford, NH, two grandchildren, Karen Caputo of Glendale, Missouri, and Marc St. Amand of Hartselle, Alabama, five great grandchildren and one sister, Adrienne Bernier of Sanford.Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 15 from 2 to 5PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
