Evelyn G. Leriche

Evelyn G. Leriche, 69, of Sanford, died May 16 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a brief illness.She was born in New London, NH on September 21, 1941 the daughter of Raymond L. and Evelyn (Call) Westgate and grew up in Portsmouth, NH. As her mother's namesake, family members affectionately referred to her as Little Evelyn.She was employed for over 30 years with Sprague Electric in Sanford.Described as a major Red Sox fan, she was also an avid card player and enjoyed knitting.She was predeceased by her parents, by a granddaughter Amber Marie Gray, and by her siblings Marjorie Rand, Gladys Canfield, Raymond L. Westgate, Jr., Leslie Westgate and Ralph Westgate.Survivors include her husband of almost 25 years, Richard J. Leriche of Sanford, a son, Robert Gray and his wife Sue of Waterboro, a granddaughter Isis Gray of Springvale, 2 grandsons, David Garrity and Michael Parkhurst both of Waterboro, sisters Arlene Forkell of Hutchinson, KS, Barbara Genthner of Brooksville, FL, Betty Foss and her husband Gerald of Middletown, RI, brothers Robert Westgate and his wife Gloria of Naples, Donald Westgate and his wife Geri of Spring Hill, FL, Kenneth Genthner of Philadelphia, PA, sisters in law Mary Westgate of Macon, GA, Diane Westgate of Sanford, and several nieces and nephews including her special niece Peggy Dunlap of Waterboro.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, where a memorial service will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, So. Waterboro.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
