Eugene Roy

Eugene J. Roy, 60, of Sanford, passed away surrounded by his family at his home on Thursday January 7, 2010. He was born in Tarrytown, NY on October 8, 1949, a son of Armand Sr., and Doreene (Calhoun) Roy. He attended schools in New York. He then served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.For the past nine years Eugene had been employed as a corrections officer for the York County Jail in Alfred.Eugene is predeceased by his mother, Doreene R. Calhoun.He is survived by his wife, Judy A (Grant) Roy of Sanford, one son, Jesse Roy of Sanford, two sisters, Dottie Hestermann of Sanford, Ruth Desjardins of Sanford, one brother, A.J. Roy, Jr., of Key West, FL, his father, Armand J. Roy Sr., of Sanford, stepsons, Michael Morton of Exeter, ME and David Morton of Brownville, Jct., ME, one grandson, Gaije Roy.A Celebration of Eugene's life will be held on Saturday January 16th at the Springvale Social from 10am until 3pm.Burial will be held at a later date at the New Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
