Eugene R. Fitzgerald

Eugene (Geno) R. Fitzgerald Jr, passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2021.
He was born on March 9, 1970, to the late Eugene and Pauline (Hodgkin) Fitzgerald in Westbrook. Gene grew up in Waterboro and Exeter, NH and attended local schools including Massabesic High School.
Gene attended welding school in Oklahoma and became a master welder. Most recently he was employed by PC Construction Company where he enjoyed working and was a valued and important part of the crew. He also worked for Engineered Construction and Abbington where he was a skilled mentor to co-workers and gained many lasting friendships.
He was also member of the Free Masons.
Gene was most comfortable being outdoors. He liked to watch the moon and stars, the rivers and ducks and enjoyed camping.
He also was known to be a jokester and had a great sense of humor. He was an amazing human being. Gene loved his family very much and it was always important that they maintain a close relationship.
Survivors include three sisters, Debra Snow and her husband Randy of Buxton, Rosemary Champagne and her husband Dennis of Sanford, Margaret Fitzgerald and her significant other Shane Young of Westbrook, his son Teegan Ford and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 10:00 A.M. at Oakdale Cemetery, 127 Twombley Rd. in Sanford, Maine.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation in Eugene's name to the Courage House c/o Al Garcia, 24 School St. Gorham, ME 04038.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
