Ethelyn E. Parsons

Ethelyn E. Parsons, 89, of Rochester, NH, a longtime resident of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Frisbee Hospital in Rochester, with her daughters at her side.Mrs. Parsons was born on January 24, 1918 in Parsonsfield, Maine, a daughter of Fred and Ethel (Weeks) Stetson. In 1937 she married Charles M. Parsons and together shared 46 years of marriage. She was a member of the Lebanon Congregational Church where she was active in the Ladies' Circle. She was also a member of the Lebanon Grange and active with the Senior Group. She loved to cook and belonged to the 1918 Club with the State of Maine. She attended the Homemaker's of Strafford County Day Care Program.A devoted wife and mom, she is predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Parsons who passed away on August 28, 1983. She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Grant and her husband, Lysle of Dover, NH, and Joyce Aubert and her husband Paul of New Durham, NH, four grandchildren, Melinda Fisher, Jennifer Morse, Wendy St. Lawrence and Jeffrey Woodman, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, one sister, Esther Inghram of Porter.A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be in the spring at the Porter Village Cemetery.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Lebanon Congregational Church, Post Office Box 157, Lebanon, Maine 04027.Condolences may be expressed at the tab at left.
