Ethel E. Nevison, 90, longtime resident of Lebanon died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 at the Newton Center in Sanford.She was born September 7, 1914 a daughter of Daniel and Edith (Briggs) Nevison and graduated from Sanford High School. After high school, she was employed for Judge Tucker in Sanford. She moved to California and worked as a secretary for Howard Hughes. She then moved to Pompano Beach, Florida and worked for the local Mayor. She returned to Maine in 1969 to the family homestead on Blanchard Road in Lebanon. . She worked as a bookkeeper at Springvale Hardware as well as cared for her parents and uncle, Harold Briggs. An animal lover by nature, she liked cats and birds and tending feeding them. She had a fun side that attracted her to her friends and family. She enjoyed her farm and tending to her flower gardens. She was predeceased by her son, Donald Davis and brother, Edward Nevison.Before entering the Pavilion, she was lovingly cared for by her great niece Tara Nevison of Lebanon. Other family members include her sister, Doris Nevison of Acton; two nephews, Ronald and his wife, Gerri Nevison of Springvale and Richard Nevison of Sanford; and two great nephews, Douglas Nevison of Springvale and Shane Nevison of Acton and one great, great nephew, Cole Nevison of Acton.Memorial donations may be made to the activity fund at the Pavilion, 35 July Street, Sanford, ME 04073.
