Estelle M. Laroche

Estelle M. Laroche, 86, of Sanford, passed away on October 29, at Greenwood Center in Sanford. She was born on April 24, 1932 to Wilfred and Eugenie (Gagne) Desrochers in Sanford, where she grew up and attended St. Ignatius School. She was a devout Catholic and as a young woman in her 20's she spent time at a convent while she was considering becoming a nun. She was also a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne.During her working life, Estelle worked in local shoe shops including Universal Shoe Shop in Springvale, and did childcare in her home while so that she could be with her children. She was also employed by at Hanover Hill Nursing Home in Manchester until she retired in 1997. After living in Manchester New Hampshire for 25 years she moved back to Sanford until her passing.Estelle lived a simple life, and enjoyed sewing, baking, going to church, and taking walks. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Oscar Desrochers, Roland, Desrochers, Henry Desrochers and a sister Juliette Morin. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Edward Laroche, of Sanford, two sons, Mark E. Laroche of Apopka, FL, and Andy Laroche and his wife Holly, of Deerfield, NH, a daughter, Monique J. Laroche, of Louden, NH, and grandchildren, Gabrielle Laroche, Christian Laroche, Edouard Laroche, and, Jordan Laroche.A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 3, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave., Sanford.
