Eric H. Letourneau, 52, a lifelong resident of Sanford-Springvale passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. Eric had been fighting a courageous battle with cancer since June and we all thought he was beating the dreadful disease, but a very sudden, vicious complication was more than his body could handle.Eric was born in Sanford, ME on May 5, 1966, the son of Rene and Winifred (Taft) Letourneau. He lived a life many dream of, always surrounded by family and great friends and he was loved by all.Eric was an avid outdoorsman who was happiest when wetting a line, (he was often referred to as the "Fishin' Technician") getting a buck in his sights and making the kill to fill our freezer for the winter, or putting his kayak in the water. He could often be found paddling down the Mousam River or floating around on Number One Pond with his buddies or side by side with his wife.Eric was a loving and devoted family man. He and his wife shared 30 years of a love that could be envied, it was pure and true and could be seen and felt by all that knew them. Together they had two children, a niece they loved as their own, and three grandchildren. Eric was overwhelmed with love and pride for his kids and grandkids, Raiya, George and Charlotte brought him immeasurable joy. Their eyes lit up when he entered a room as did his even in his darkest days. They were often his reason to smile and the fuel behind his brave fight.Eric was predeceased by his parents Rene and Winnie and by his brother Dwight Letourneau.Eric is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate, Munday Letourneau of Springvale, his daughter Haley Nordmann and her fiance Lincoln Pierce both of Parsonsfield, a son, Trevan Nordmann of Sanford, and three grandchildren, Raiya, Nordmann, and George and Charlotte Pierce. He is also survived by a sister Bonnie Dumont and her husband, Roger of Harpwsell, a sister, Beverly Dart of Acton, an Aunt Rose Pecor and her husband Bud of Jaffrey, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Saturday, October 6, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., with a graveside service at noon at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
