Eric P. Allain

He loved sports and wrote a sports column in Sanford's local newspaper for many years. He was also the Sports Director for WSME and when not announcing Football, Basketball and Baseball over the airways he was in the press box providing the play by play over the loudspeakers.Born in Dover-Foxcroft, Ric lived most of his life in Sanford Maine. Ric gave many years to public service as a town meeting member, Chairman of the Sanford school committee, assistant community civil defense director, President of the Sanford High Athletic Boosters and as a St. Ignatius Parent Teacher Association board member. As a lifetime member of the Elks, for over 52 years, Ric oversaw many benevolent projects during his tenure. Ric worked as a production and inventory control expert at General Electric in Somersworth NH for 35 years.Ric is survived by his cherished wife of 59 years Constance A. Allain of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter - Barbara Boyes (husband Earl Boyes), Myrtle Beach, SC; sons -Jayson Allain (wife Laurel Allain), Joint Base Andrews, MD / Dover Foxcroft, ME - Jeffrey Allain (wife Jacqueline Bruce), Amesbury, MA -Steven Hall (wife Margaret Hall), Fiskdale, MA. 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his sister - Jana West, of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was predeceased by his Parents Eric W. Allain and Yvette D. Allain and brother Paul G. Allain.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday September 9th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
