PORTLAND - Emily Watson, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. She was born on July 10, 1922, to Katherine Hyde Houle and Noah Houle. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Rita, Edna and Geraldine and by her beloved husband of 56 years, George M. Watson, who she missed every day. Emily is survived by her six children and their spouses, all of whom surrounded her with their love in her final hours. Ronald and Linda Watson, George Jr, and Nancy Watson, Estelle Watson Sanders and Charles, Catherine Watson Moschetto and Marc, Emily Watson Sprague and Stuart, Frank Watson and Jennifer. She also has 14 grandchildren: Ronald II Gregg Watson, Leah, Tyler Devon Watson, Noel Sanders Poirier Aimee Sanders Freund, Damon Moschetto Marci Booth, Garrett Seth Sprague, Frank, Jr. Matt, Katie Watson. She also has 11 great grandchildren and another baby girl arriving in December. Her family was the center of her life and she was proud of all of them. Her greatest joy was to hear about the accomplishments and activities of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visits from them were the highlight of her day. She also took great pleasure in the beauty of nature and passed that love on to her family. One of her final comments to her family as they were gathered around her was how much she enjoyed hearing their laughter and her parting wish to all was to find their own happiness in this world and enjoy it to the fullest. She was greatly comforted by their presence at the end. Emily spent her last few years at Seventy- Five State Street, where she participated in the many activities available at her new home. She looked forward every day to the new adventures they would bring. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Seventy-Five State Street, as well as to those at the Gibson Pavilion at Maine Medical Center for their care and attention in her final days. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday from 4-7PM at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:15AM followed by an 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 65 Mellen Street, Portland.   4. Emily was the dinner companion of my mother-in-law, Henrietta Juhl at 75 State Street. We always enjoyed sharing a meal with Emily. Emily was so sweet and caring.
