Emily H. Michaud, 100, of Sanford, died on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Greenwood Center in Sanford.Emily was born in St. Francis on January 8, 1910 to Dennis and Annie (Jandreau) Harvey and attended St. Francis School.In 1926 Emily moved to Sanford. In 1927 she married Philip Michaud and together they raised two children. They were married for 57 years until his death in 1984. She worked for 10 years at the Sanford mills until 1954 when she went to work in the Sanford shoe shops. She worked in the shoe shops until her retirement in 1966. Emily had been a member of St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. She was an avid knitter and an excellent cook. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Emily was predeceased by her husband, Philip Michaud, by a son, Lionel Michaud and by three brothers and three sisters.Surviving are her daughter, Shirley Prime and her husband Gordon of Sanford; a granddaughter, Judith Gibbs and her husband Wayne of Sanford; a grandson, Daniel Prime and his wife Lisa of Sanford; a great grandson, Christopher Prime and his wife Tanja of Sanford; four step great grandchildren, Dale Metcalf and his wife Shannon of Waterboro, Joshua Metcalf of Texas, Daniel Drake of Sanford and Breanne Drake of Sanford; a soon to be born great-great grandson Noah Prime and many nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 9th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.Arrangements are under the direction of Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home in Sanford.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
