Emile A. Legere

Emile A. Legere, of Sanford, passed away at his home at the age of 89 on March 12, 2015. He was born in Sanford on December 7, 1925 a son of the late Prosper and Delia (Baron) Legere. He was an identical twin to his late brother Rudolph (nicknamed Duffy) Legere,with whom he was inseparable with. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII.Emile loved spending as much time outside as possible, whether it be fishing, hunting or gardening. Every morning he would catch up with a few old friends over a cup of coffee. He was a religious man and a communicant of Holy Family Parish. He valued his family of three children, seven grandchildren and loving wife of 65 years. He as a modest man with a big heart that will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. He had been employed at Tenneford Weaving for 40 years.He was predeceased by his brothers, Leon, Armand, Gerard, Robert, Rudolph, sister, Lucienne.He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine, children, Rachel (Legere) and her husband Pat Nason, Stella (Legere) Furness, and Ernest Legere and his wife, Lynn, grandchildren, Regan (Nason) Pearson, Christopher Nason and his wife, Wendy, Ashley Furness, Gregory Furness, Brittany Furness, Derek Legere and Bethany Legere, two great grandchildren, Grace and Devin Pearson.Visiting hours will be on Monday from 6 to 8PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 17th at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
