Elsie Case, 100, died on March 13, 2016 at Anchor Care Residence, in Springvale. Elsie was born on September 14, 1915, in Sanford to Joseph and Amanda (Legere) Arseneault, where she attended Saint Ignatius School. She worked in textile manufacturing as mender and at Universal Shoes. She was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church in Sanford.Elsie, the life-long jetsetter, spent many years traveling and settled down in Long Beach, California. She lived there for 30 years, before moving to Las Vegas where she lived for 14 years and eventually returned to Sanford-Springvale in 1996.After all-nighters at the Vegas casinos, a fun social life with friends across the country and trips to Cuba, Elsie slowed down in her beloved Springvale apartment and spent her time shopping, playing cards, going out to eat on Sundays and baking her world-famous cookies. Strong, independent and not afraid to speak up, Elsie was very generous and had a warm heart. She also had the best attitude about life with her notorious saying, "You do the best you can!" She credited her longevity to that outlook, telling people she was 39 years old and enjoying maple walnut ice cream with every meal.Surviving are many nieces and nephews that Elsie loved as her own children and other relatives and friends who will all miss Elsie's love, companionship and amusing stories.Elsie was predeceased by husband Lloyd Green, and husband, Dale Case. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 9, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish Holy Family Church in Sanford with interment immediately following at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to a charity of one's choice.Services are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence please click tab at left.
