Eloise A. Pierce
Eloise Annie Pierce, 89, of Sanford passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, March 7, 2020.She was born on September 17, 1930 to Harland and Lillian (Small) Curit in Windham. She grew up in the Windham, Yarmouth area where she could spent time with her beloved grandmother. She was employed at local Sanford shoe shops and textile mills and retired from U.S. Optical Disk.Eloise was the center of her tight knit family. She was always there for her family and those who needed her. Though her means were modest, she was willing to share whatever she had with others. Her sense of humor and loving heart are what endeared people to her. She was a patient and tolerant woman, but was one who was also matter of fact. She would only need to give you "the look" and you knew you were pushing the limits. She could also keep tabs on those she cared about by continuously listening to her scanner. Some of the kids would call her "scanna nana". Eloise loved scratch tickets, which were a perfect gift for her on any occasion. She was definitely one of a kind and will be dearly missed.Eloise is predeceased by her parents, a son Lawrence Curit, two brothers Lawrence Curit and Norman Curit and a sister Melba Dow. Survivors include sons Edward Pierce and his wife Diane, of Waterboro, and Stanley Pierce of Milton, FL, daughters Pamela Pierce, Susan Pierce and Yvette Duhamel and her husband William, all of Sanford, her very special aunt Dot Glover of Yarmouth, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. To leave a message of condolence click tab at left.
