Ella C. Proulx

Ella Caroline Proulx, 83, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.Ella was born in Lennox, Massachusetts on December 30, 1929 to Benjamin and Elizabeth Cleveland. She grew up in Lennox and Attleboro, Massachusetts where she attended local schools. In 1950 she married Donald Proulx. Together they raised three children and shared 63 years of marriage. Ella lived most of her life in Attleboro until relocating to Florida about 20 years ago. She and her husband moved to Maine three years ago to be closer to family.Ella was a quiet woman who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed camping, spending time outside and cooking. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.Ella was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela May Vantol and by two siblings, Olive Finley and Ralph Cleveland.Surviving are her husband, Donald Proulx of Sanford; two children, Donna Lee Cleary and her husband James of Abbot, Maine and Donald Proulx, Jr. and his wife Valerie of Lakeland, Florida; two grandchildren, Korbin and Dylan and three siblings, Benjamin Cleveland of Madison, Maine, Margaret Gagnon of California and Doris Cooper of Paris, Maine.At Ella's request there will be no formal funeral services.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family click on the condolences tab to the left.
