Yarmouth-Elizabeth A. Hansen, 90, of Bay Square at Yarmouth, died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at her home. She was born in Auburn on August 25, 1926, a daughter of John E. and Margaret A. (Shields) May. She graduated from Edward Little High School, class of 1943, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Bates College, class of 1947. She married the love of her life, Glen R. Hansen in Auburn on June 18, 1949. She worked as a real estate broker for Mark Stimson Realty and Peterson Reality. In the 1970s, she started Hansen Realty in Scarborough and later retired from real estate to enjoy time travelling with her husband and spend time with family and friends. Elizabeth was a devoted wife and loving mother to her six children. Her lifes focus was on her husband, children, and Catholic faith. She was a devote Catholic, communicant of Holy Martyrs Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of Opus Dei. She is remembered as a spirited, smart woman who enjoyed golfing at Portland Country Club, skiing at Pleasant Mountain, playing bridge, and time with family at the camp on Little Sebago. She is predeceased by two brothers, James and Billy May; and a sister, Carroll Charron. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Glen Hansen; three daughters, Sally Hansen of Nappa, California, Margaret Churchill and husband Clayton of Ramona, California, and Elizabeth BJ Weeks and husband Timothy of Falmouth; three sons, Stephen Hansen and wife Sandy of Windham, Jim Hansen of Kingfield, and John Hansen and wife Gail of Hayward, Wisconsin; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM, on Wednesday, April 12, at Holy Martyrs Church, 266 Foreside Road, Falmouth. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Falmouth at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory, to Holy Martyrs Parish in Falmouth, Maine.
