Elizabeth P. Demers
Elizabeth P. Demers, 93, of Acton, slipped quietly into eternity on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the home of her son Patrick Demers, surrounded by family members. Elizabeth was born in Ham-Nord, Canada on October 27, 1918, the daughter of Albert and Lea (Picard) Provencal. She was married to the late Arthur A. Demers who died in 1998.Elizabeth spent many years working in the family pharmacy and later at The Lodges Nursing Home. There, her gifts of caring, loving and hospitality were a shining beacon to all who saw her. She was a voracious reader and was one of the older patrons of the Springvale Public Library.Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, five brothers, nine sisters and one great granddaughter.She is survived by two sons, Michel A. Demers and his wife Jeannette of Sanford and Patrick M. Demers and his wife Adele of Acton with whom she had resided since 2007, Michel and Jeannette's four daughters: Theresa Jollotta and her husband Wayne, Diane LaRose, Anne Marie Kimball and her husband David and Michele Watson and her husband Randy; Patrick and Adele's ten children, Mark Demers and his wife Cynthia, Jeanne Demers, Matthew Demers and his wife Robin, John Demers and his wife Aimee, Luke Demers, Peter Demers and his wife Amy, Michael Demers and his wife Amy, Daniel Demers and his wife Barbara, Mary Letourneau and her husband Joseph and David Demers; twenty-one great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 25th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 26th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale.
