Elizabeth (Betty) A. Davis, 77, of West Newfield, passed suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday morning May 30, 2015 while preparing deviled eggs for a family get together. She was born, raised, and lived in the greater Boston, MA area until moving to her home at Sunset Hill in 1982. In 1955 she graduated from Dean Academy in Franklin, MA. She then attended the University of New Hampshire. While employed by Polaroid from 1967 to 1982 she attended Northeastern University. Afterwards, she became a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant. Swimming at the Sanford YMCA with friends was a true joy. Her swimming goals started with an attempt to swim the same distance from her Maine home to her Florida home. Achieving that goal, she decided to swim back. She fell just short of Richmond, VA. Researching family genealogy was an interest, as was working on the history of Hidden Lake. Country line dancing filled her soul and she danced with the Pepper Steppers regularly. On her daily mile walk, she said, "I walk for my soul, the body just tags along." She leaves behind two sons, Donald H. Atwell Jr. of Beverly Hills, FL and Thomas C. Davis of West Newfield, a cherished niece, Elizabeth Wood Sullivan of Rochdale, MA, twin granddaughters, Chelsea Elizabeth and Marisa Ashley Atwell, granddaughter Clark Oriah Davis, grandniece Jessica Elizabeth Millward of Grafton, MA and daughters-in-law Pamela G. Atwell and Judy C. Trepal. A celebration of Betty's life will be held at her home on Saturday, June 27 from 2-4 pm. RSVP at bettysunsethill@gmail.com, or just stop by. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a contribution to the heart research charity of your choice or the Newfield Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 170, W.
