Elizabeth M. Buchanan

Elizabeth (Betty) M. Buchanan, 74, formerly of North Waterboro, Maine & Saugus, MA became an angel on May 21, 2003, after a lengthy illness.She was born in Saugus, MA, on November 20, 1928. She graduated from Saugus High, Class of 1946.She was the daughter of the late Edith Lord Pierce and Stanley Konczal, sister of the late Stanley J. Konczal, Jr.She was the loving wife of the late Charles (Bud) N. Buchanan, loving Mother of sons, John S. Buchanan of Saugus, MA, Edward M. Buchanan of Everett, MA, and daughter MaryEllen Buchanan of Stoneham, MA.Her family was first and foremost in her life. Her warm caring heart was a reflection on the wonderful relationships she made over the years.In her early years, she was employed by Aircraft Gas Turbine Reproduction Area, at the River Works in Lynn, MA.She was a majority member of the Saugus Assembly, NO 33, order of the rainbow for girls.When "Betty" lived in Saugus, she was involved in the Saugus P.T.A., also very active in the Saugus youth athletic association. During her years in North Waterboro, she was a long time member of the Waterboro historical society craft and bake sales.Her fondest hobbies were sewing, knitting, making crafts, watching old movies and word search puzzles.A memorial service and internment will be held on May 31, 2003 at the Elder Gray Meeting House, North Waterboro, Maine at 12:30 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Make a Wish Foundation, 295 Devonshire Street, Boston, MA 02110.
