Eleita Roger
Eleita Beaudoin Boutin Carrier Roger, 95, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Born on July 22, 1914, in Sanford, she was a daughter of the late Emile and Bertha (Carpentier) Beaudoin. A graduate of Sanford High School, she also graduated from Bryant and Stratton College in Boston.A lifelong communicant of St. Ignatius Parish, she was also the church organist for many years. Mrs. Roger was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and a Daughter of Isabella, recently receiving her 45 year pin. She also served as President of the St. Ignatius High School P.T.A. Her working career began as a bookkeeper and she worked her way up to Trust Officer. She retired in 1979 after 44 years of service with Sanford Trust, now Bank of America. She was one of the first two women trust officers in New England. She was a member of B.P.W. (Business Professional Women), Toast Mistresses Club, Emblem Club, life member of the American Legion Auxillary, and had served as a leader for the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed bingo, gardening and great family parties. Mrs. Roger is predeceased by the Carrier stepchildren, Giles, Roland and Simonne, one sister, Yvette Arsenault and one brother, Aldas Beaudoin.She is survived by one son, David Boutin and his wife, Celia of Maryland, one daughter, Sylvia Boutin of Sanford, step children, Pauline O'Brien, Maurice Carrier, Robert Roger and his wife, Diane, Paul Roger and his wife, Cindy, Julie Niles and her husband, Richard, Maggie Bernier, Richard Roger and his wife, Jill, Christine Roger, Rachel Meehan and her husband, Roland, two grandchildren, Christopher Boutin and David H. Boutin, three sisters, Agnes Hennessey of Texas, Elaine Rehn of California and Sr. Nesta Beaudoin, O.S.U., of Dedham, MA.Visiting hours for Mrs. Roger will be held this Sunday from 4 to 7PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford.
