Elaine T. Dubois, 65, of Sanford passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 17, 2022.
She was born on August 20, 1957, one of twelve children to the late William and Odile (Godin) McGrath in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools.
Elaine was a lifelong resident of Sanford and in her younger days she was employed at the local shoe shops. She spent most of her life providing childcare the children in her extended family. This was a very important role for all of those she lovingly cared for, and they are forever grateful for the time spent with her.
She was a very helpful and giving person. She also loved frogs and collecting them, and for a time really enjoyed singing karaoke. Mostly, she enjoyed the time spent with her family. She was able to meet her brand-new great grandchild just two days before her passing.
Elaine is predeceased by her husband Patrick Dubois, sisters Joan Corale and Theresa McGrath, and brothers William and Brian McGrath.
Survivors include her daughter Kristy Johnson and her husband Alfred of Sanford, grandchildren Autumn, Shantelle, Kristopher and Jamie Johnson, siblings Paul McGrath, Sandra St. Jean, Diane Stone, Daniel McGrath, Michael McGrath, Joseph McGrath, Tony McGrath, great grandchildren Harper Libby, Anastasia Johnson and Savannah Fredette, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 12:00 at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pine St. Springvale.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Sanford-Springvale.
