PORTLAND - Eileen R. (Malloy) Moore, beloved wife of the late George Moore died peacefully on January 28, 2013 at her home, in the presence of great love. Eileen was born in Portland, Maine on February 10, 1919, daughter of the late Stephen A. Malloy Mary A. (Jennings) Malloy. Eileen attended Cathedral Elementary School and graduated from Cathedral High School with the class of 1937 Eileen was involved with many activities while at Cathedral and once scored all of her teams points in a basketball game. Eileen married George, the love of her life November 27, 1941. Eileen then dedicated years of her life to raising her children who she loved dearly. Eileen worked as a secretary in the Portland Public School System for many years She worked at Rosa True, Longfellow, and Baxter Elementary schools. It was at Baxter school where she was named secretary of the year ; an accomplishment that we are all proud of. After retiring, Eileen and George spent their winters in Treasure Island, Florida. Eileen considered these years to be some of the best in her life. It was here that they were able to sit and relax, play cribbage, and walk for hours on the beach. During her retirement Eileen served as a public notary, Eucharistic minister, and volunteered countless hours at St. Joseph's Manor. She always felt it was important to give to others who were in need; an important lesson that she taught her children. Eileen is survived by four daughters, Paula Paradise of Suffield, Ct,, Kathleen Vaillencourt and her husband Dan of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, Janet Yuris of Colchester, Ct and Laurie Skillings and husband Phil of So. Portland; two sons, Stephen Moore of Enfield, CT and Robert Moore of North Conway, New Hampshire; two sisters, Mary Ingerowski of Portland and Beatrice Kijek of Ipswich, Ma. , 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Dennis Moore, daughter Nancy Augdahl, grandson Robert Chittick, Jr. , sister Helen Rice and dear friend Ruth Connolly.Special thanks to Joey Novak, Kimmy and Craig Campbell and Mom's Girls from AdvantageHome Care for their extraordinary love and support over the years. Visitation will be held from 9 until the time of prayers at 10:15 am on Thursday, January 31, at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at St. Pius X, 492 Ocean Ave., Portland. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
