Edward M. LHeureux
Edward M. L'Heureux, 85, of Sanford, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, September22, 2011 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Sanford on January 8, 1926, a son of the late George and Malvina (Martin) L'Heureux. He served in the US Army during WWII in the China offensive.In 1965 he moved to Kittery and worked as a ship fitter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service.After retirement he worked as a custodian at St. Raphael's parish and served as a Eucharistic Minister at masses and funerals. In 1991 he moved back to Sanford. He was a communicant of Holy Family parish where he continued working as a custodian and served as a Eucharistic minister for funeral masses. He continued doing this until 2000.Eddie was a wonderful husband and father. He was always reaching out to people. He had a great sense of humor and made people laugh. He will be missed by his wife of 51 years, Lauretta (LeBorgne) L'Heuruex of Springvale, one son, Michael L'Heureux and his wife, Josee of Springvale, one daughter, Noreen Jimenez and her husband, Jack of Wellington, Kansas, two brothers, Real L'Heureux of Sanford and Fr. Ernest L'Heureux of Sanford, one sister, Cecile Therrien of Sanford, five grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Tyler, Alec and Kevin.Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 4PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
