Edna P. Libbey

Edna P. Libbey, 102, of East Lebanon, passed away on Thursday February 14, 2008 at St. Andre's Health Facility in Biddeford. She was born in Rochester, NH, on May 10, 1905, a daughter of Herman and Emma (Pulsifer) Hanson.Mrs. Libbey was a lifelong member of the Lebanon-North Berwick Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. In the winter when the church closed she brought the children to her home and taught them in her kitchen on stools. Her interest and love of people stayed with her all her life. She was a 60 year member of the Maine Extension service.She is predeceased by her husband, Leslie Libbey. She will be sadly missed by her children, Gloria Reed of Lebanon, Janice Cox of Milton, NH, and Errol Libbey of Lyman, her 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.A funeral service for Mrs. Libbey will be held in the spring at the Lebanon-North Berwick Baptist Church.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
