Edith Hall
June 2025 – Age 77
Edith Hall passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2025, with her children by her side and the cat curled up next to her.
Edith was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. “Gene” Hall; her parents, Leo and Marguerite Legere; her brother, Paul Legere; her mother- and father-in-law, Charles and Lucille Hall; and her brothers-in-law, C. Michael Hall and A. Lawrence Hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Hall-Miller, and her husband Raymond Miller; her son, Jason “Jake” Hall; her sister-in-law, E. Geralyn “Geri” Hall and her husband David Pasinski; her brother-in-law, John Thomas Hall and his wife Joy Hall; her sister-in-law, Pauline Legere; and nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is also survived by her beloved cats, Little One and Fritz.
A lifelong Sanford resident and third generation of her family to live on Charles Street, Edith told Gene that he’d never get her off that street—and he didn’t. She was a steady, familiar presence in the neighborhood, always quick to chat from her porch, wave to a passerby, or share something from her garden. She planted lavender near the sidewalk so neighbors could enjoy the scent and shared her homegrown berries with the local kids.
Edith began working as a hairdresser when she was just a girl, assisting her brother Paul in his salon. She carried that love for her craft through a lifelong career in hairdressing. Edith was also a devoted wife and caregiver. Even while facing her own battle with brain cancer, Edith selflessly took care of Gene until he passed away this past March. Their bond was truly special.
She found joy in simple pleasures: tending her garden, fussing over her cats, and forming bonds with neighbors. She was determined, loving, and unwavering in her care.
The family would like to thank Wentworth Home Care and Wentworth Hospice for their extraordinary support and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of Edith’s life will take place at the Walker Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, on June 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to share their stories and enjoy light fare in her memory.

My love and hugs to you all. I remember meeting both your parents briefly after dropping Jake off, we had just won the trip to Vegas. They were so kind and friendly. Both were very excited for the entire team💕🙏🏻🙏🏻
Dear Sheri and Jake, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Edith was a fun and a very kind lady and I am pleased I got to know her.
Dear Sheri and Jake ,
we are so sorry for your loss !
Edie was a “room lighter” with that smile and sly wit ! A super sweet person , who was always a treat to talk with !
She always had a decency and kindness that is the very best that we should all strive for !
I do believe she also had great advise to share !
