Earle W Buzzell

South Portland- Earle W. Buzzell Jr., 87, of Running Hill Road, died peacefully on October 13, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with his loving family by his side.
Earle was born in Boston, MA on October 29, 1930 the son of the late Earle W. Sr. and Amy W. (Gillcrist) Buzzell. He graduated from Boston English High School in the class of 1948 and then Bentlely College in the class of 1951. Following college, Earle enlisted and served the United States Airforce during the Korean War.
On July 26, 1980, Earle married Eleanor R. Alden.
After returning home from his time in the Air Force, Earle worked in several different firms before joining the team at Garland Manufacturing in 1972, a career which ended with his retirement as Chief Financial Officer in 1995 with more than twenty years of service. Earle also enjoyed his many years of service to the board of directors of Sweester where he served as treasurer and worked on their finance committee. In his spare time he enjoyed singing and was a 40 year member of the Barber Shop Quartet Society. He enjoyed spending time in his many flower gardens and was a proud Eagle Scout. His greatest love was the time he spent surrounded by his family.
Earle was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Mitchell and a brother, Dr. Keith Buzzell. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Buzzell of South Portland; a daughter, Donna Buzzell of Farmingdale; two sons, Douglas and his wife Sandi Buzzell of CA, and Keith and his wife Karen Buzzell of Dayton, ME; three stepdaughters, Karen and her husband Robert MacWilliam of Stowe, MA, Valda Winsloe and her husband Joel Hedlund of Ipswich, MA, and Donna Winsloe of FL; four grandchildren, Alexander Seavey of Farmingdale, Stephanie Buzzell of CA, Nicole Hussey of CA, and Kristy Morrill of FL; three greatgrandchildren, Brayden Hussey of CA, Kinsley Hussey of CA, and Jaxson Morrill of FL.
