Douglas W. Phillips

Douglas W. Phillips, 63, of Rochester, NH, passed away at his residence in Rochester on Sunday April 19, 2009. Born in Sanford on February 3, 1946, he was a son of the late Paul and Priscilla (Pratt) Phillips. He attended local Sanford Schools.He enlisted in the US Army in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1966. He was the recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal. He was employed as a machinist at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring in 2005 with over 20 years of service.He is predeceased by his parents, and his wife, Sharon (Day) Phillips who passed away in 2006.Survivors include one daughter, Laurie-Ann (Clough) Carlin and her husband, Michael of Shapleigh and two grandchildren, Thomas Jr., and Chelsey Bourque of Shapleigh.A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Family and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service.Burial with military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Springvale.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
