Dorothy R. Urquhart

Shapleigh, Maine - Dorothy Lee (Russell) Urquhart, 91, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 following a brief illness.Dorothy was born August 19, 1928 in Westfield, Massachusetts to Leon and Esther (Caraway) Russell.Together with her spouse of 53 years, Gordon F. Urquhart, they were long-term residents of SouthBerwick, Maine before moving to Shapleigh, Maine in 1986.Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller in her younger years in addition to being a loving and devoted mother and homemaker. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star for many years while residing in South Berwick. She used to love to bowl in leagues in her earlier years and was an avid Red Sox fan. Her current past times were reading, playing cards, watching game shows and court television.In addition to her parents, Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband Gordon in 2005 and step-sonDale Urquhart in 1970.Surviving members of her family include her daughter Lee Daudelin of Rochester, NH, daughter Patti-Jo Mayo of Shapleigh, Maine, son Steven (and Janine) Urquhart of Franklin, NH, son Tain (and Judy) Urquhart of Bradenton, Florida, and daughter Traci (and Alan) Stevens of Sanford, Maine. Also step-daughters Karen Malcolm of Warren, Maine and Jo Urquhart of Orono, Maine. She is also survived by grandchildren Jessica (Daudelin) Deaguero, Kevin Daudelin, Shayne Mayo, Tiffany Mayo, Ryan Mayo, Jordan Urquhart, Shannon Urquhart, Craig Urquhart, Kyle Urquhart, Kari (Urquhart) Nadeau, and Kameron Urquhart, great grandchildren Bo Deaguero, Adam Mayo, Liam Mayo, Ajah Fletcher, Aila Urquhart, Kylie Nadeau, Emma Nadeau and great, great granddaughter Arya Fletcher.Burial will be at the Central Cemetery in Epping, New Hampshire. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be announced at a later date when the many people that loved her can gather together.
