Dorothy Schultz Prusinski, 92, of Sanford, passed away after a long illness on Thursday May 24, 2007 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in New York City on December 22, 1914, a daughter of Isaac and Edna (Greer) Schultz Vanderhoff.After graduation from high school she attended Columbia University. She lived in New York city and New Jersey most of her life. She was married to Chester Prusinski, a disabled WWII vet. They began their married life in Brooklyn, NY. She worked as a bookkeeper. Following retirement they lived in Florida before moving to Sanford in 1974 and resided at the Jagger Mills Apartments.They moved to Sanford to be close to her brother, William N. Schultz, a Sanford school teacher. She served as a volunteer for many years at the H.G. Goodall Memorial Hospital.She is predeceased by her husband. She is survived by a cousin, Mabel harms of Anderson, S.C., nieces, Jocelyn S. DeNoce of St. Petersburg, and nephews,, William N. Schultz Jr., of Scotia, NY, and Peter Schultz of Sanford as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews.The family wishes to express their appreciation to Karen Begin for her friendship and the many kindnesses she has shown Dorothy in her senior years. Also, our thanks and appreciation to Dr. Lincourt of the Goodall Hospital for his care of Dorothy during this period.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.
