Dorothy spent her younger years as a stay at home mother, a full time job raising their five children and maintaining the house. A job she took very seriously, and did perfectly. Some of Dorothy's favorite things to do in her spare time were play bingo, of which she was very skilled in doing, and shopping, lots of shopping. She would spend hours roaming the stores, looking for bargains or that special deal, which she usually found. Dorothy's love of shopping continued right up until a few weeks before her passing in which she joined a group taking a bus to Kittery to shop the outlets. Always on the go, Dorothy never missed the opportunity to travel, be it a trip to Foxwoods or the Oxford Casino, going out for dinner or joining one of her granddaughters for a mani-pedi. Her greatest love was family. She loved her children unconditionally and cherished her grandchildren and her great grandchildren more than words can say. She loved a good time, was outgoing, and was always dressed to the nine's.
Dorothy was a longtime communicant of St. Pius X Church.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John Handlon in 1986; a son, John J. Handlon: a sister, Jean Roby; two brothers, Ralph and Paul Quinn. She is survived by three daughters, Carole and her husband Marco DiSanto of Portland, Paula and her husband Robert Magrane of FL, Eileen and her husband Michael Montefusco of NC; a son, William and his wife Patricia Handlon of FL; two daughters in law, Cathy A. Handlon of Saco, and Dottie Fredericksen of Falmouth; eleven grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren; special nephew, Jack and Connie Flaherty of Scarborough; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

My heart cried when I heard about Dot.. She was the sweetest, caring and loving lady. We always gave each other a kiss hello and see you later.( I don’t like good-bys). We went to church every Thursday and talk in the hallways, where we lived. I just loved her and she will always be in my heart. R.I.P. my dear lady. I pray God will give her family peace and contentment , God bless you all. Connie Farrin.
