Dorothy Irene Caron

March 27, 1928 ~ August 20, 2018
South Portland - Dorothy Graffam Caron (Dot) was born to the late Percy and Delia (McDonough) Graffam on March 27, 1928 and passed away peacefully on August 20, 2018.
Dot was a lifelong resident of South Portland, and graduated from SPHS in 1946. After raising her children, Dot went on to work in the South Portland School Department for most of her professional life, until her retirement in 1994. Dot left her career with the school system with many lifelong friends.
Dot was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and took on several roles in the church over her lifetime. Some of Dot's favorite memories were the summer days spent with family on both Rangeley and Long Lake, and long cocktail hours with her best friends Arthur and Katherine Dusseault. Dot especially treasured her many trips to Ireland, where she enjoyed time with her relatives that still reside there.
Dot was predeceased by her husband, Martin E. Caron in 1990; as well as her brother, Thomas Graffam; and her sister, Mary Graffam Duval.
She is survived by her son, Stephen; daughter-in-law Beth Caron; daughter,
Patricia Caron Bruce; grandchildren, Kim Broderick, Christopher Caron and Emily Bruce; and three great grandchildren, Lauren, Allison and Joseph Early, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours celebrating Dot's life will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 1:00-3:00PM at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at the Funeral Home at 9:15AM on Monday, August 27, 2018, followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

To the Caron family and Kimberly, I saw you at church last week talking to Rita. I was so sorry to hear about your gram nana that passed away. I always liked her as a friend. She was a lovely lady and remember hear at south Portland high school in the lunch room. I will miss her. Maybe see you around. I will keep your family in my prayers.
